A PROJECT PROMOTED BY
In the frame of RO10 Program under „Children and young people at risk and local and regional initiatives to reduce national inequalities and promote social inclusion ‘, financed by the European Economic Area Financial Mechanism 2009-2014 (EEA Grants 2009-2014), the School Inspectorate Vaslui received a grant worth of 1.645.314,55 lei(PLUS 2 extention)for the „Education and Counseling Programs to Prevent School Dropout in Vaslui County.”
The general objective of the project is to develop the reduction of school drop out in classes X, XI and XII for 200 youngsters at risk and exclusion (age 16-20 years) of 3 high schools, theoretical and technological profile of Vaslui County, for a period of maximum 24 months.
The project is implemented in the Technological High Schools „Ion Mincu” Vaslui, „Petru Rares” Barlad and”Nicolae Iorga” Negreşti in the period February 10, 2015 – January 30, 2017, during which it will conduct educational programs, remedial / excellence and non-formal educational activities for students, training workshops for teachers and parents in the target group.
The project is supported financially and morally by the City Councils and the City Town Halls from Vaslui, Barlad and Negreşti, both during implementation and 5 years sustainability after the end of external funding.
The expected outcomes of the project are:
-200 young people involved in project activities in three pilot schools;
-60 teachers trained in dealing and communicating with young people through non-formal and informal learning;
-213 parents of young people in the target group trained in methods of self-development and parenting;
-1 Labor market survey;
-1 Study to assess the progress of the quality and quantity of youth target group;
-2 Support educational programs (programs of remedial and excellence) for young people in the target group, based on identified needs;
-Support (packages of food, supplies, etc.) for young people in the target group during the implementation of special educational programs;
-Reduced risk of dropping out in grades X, XI and XII by 5% in each of the three pilot schools involved in the project.
-Increased graduation exam passing rate with 25% in the next two school years (2015-2016 and 2016-2017) in each of the three pilot schools involved in the project.
